Dan Colman, OpenCulture.com

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to watch Vladimir Nabakov read the famous opening to “Lolita” in English and then in his original Russian? Or how about the current world’s greatest soccer player, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, playing soccer when he was 5 years old? Thelonious Monk playing Copenhagen in 1966? Video of Picasso painting through glass? I know — Jean-Luc Goddard filming the Rolling Stones playing “Sympathy for the Devil!” OpenCulture.com is the best site you may have never heard of, although it gets some 1.2 million visits per month. It is single-handedly making every television in my house useless, because I’m spending too much of my leisure time seeing, reading and hearing incredible moments in history I never thought I’d see. And the person I blame for that is with us right now — Dan Colman, founder of OpenCulture.com. (Originally broadcast 3-10-12 on The John Batchelor Show)
